Two Fund
Raising Events to Help Make “Your” County Animal Shelter
a Reality
Paw Pals is busy with two initiatives that
will raise funds towards building a county animal shelter. On
October 27, we will start accepting
donated items for our 5th Annual County-Wide Garage
Sale at the Hillsboro Convention Center (former Wal-Mart
building) north of Wal-Mart Super Center . All donated items
are tax deductable because of our IRC 501(c)(3) non-profit status.
The garage sale will begin at 8:00am on Saturday,
November 1. For questions, please call Marilyn Kerr at
582-2352.
The second initiative is our teaming with Outlets
at Hillsboro for their first annual Shopping
Extravaganza that benefits local charities. This
day of fun is set for Saturday, November 8th where registration begins
at 9:30pm and shopping from 10am-4pm. All tickets will allow
the buyer to select a local charity that will benefit from the proceeds and Hill
County Paw Pals will be one of the choices. Tickets that benefit
Paw Pals are being sold by Whitney
High School Paw Pals Club (Robin
Wright), Antique Village (Lana Crow) (one block south
of the Courthouse on Covington St ) and Citizens National Bank (Loraine Easterling)
(one block east of the Courthouse on Elm Street ). The price
of the tickets is $15 and this includes a catered lunch with dessert from Black-eyed
Pea Restaurant, wine tasting, and five raffle tickets
for a chance to win prizes valued up to $5,000. A group picture
and gift wrapping are included in the ticket price. This is a
great deal for all shoppers and selected non-profit organizations.
Tickets can also be purchased on-line at
www.outletsathillsboro.com or in person at the Outlets of Hillsboro management
office.
