Low Cost Sterilization & Vaccination Program
Hill County Paw Pals sponsors a low cost sterilization
and vaccination program in collaboration with another non-profit organization named
Texas Coalition of Animal Protection (TCAP).
The inauguration of this program was on February 15, 2005 under the leadership of
Kathy Moore.
This service provides a service to the community at large, regardless of
income and is held on the first Tuesday of each
month. View Spay/Neuter Clinic prices here..
Prices for pet sterilization start at $30.00, and all
pets entering the facility without a current rabies vaccination will receive one
at the time of surgery for $5.00. Pets
are checked in for service between 8:00-9:00 a.m. and will be returned to their
owners the same day between 5:00-6:00 p.m.
The clinic is manned by staff and volunteers and features state-of-the-art veterinary
procedures performed by a licensed veterinarian.
All pets must have an appointment for
surgery and must be in a pet carrier. Low
cost vaccinations are available and do not need an appointment and are administered
from 10am-2pm. Pet owners do
not have to be residents of the City of Hillsboro. The
program is open to any individual whose pet needs sterilization or vaccination.
“The goal of the Hillsboro program is to provide high
quality veterinary procedures at a low cost to the community,” added Stacey Taylor,
Director, Texas Coalition for Animal Protection. “Our
program focuses on pet sterilization and vaccination for the betterment of Hillsboro
citizens and their animals. Our costs
are kept down by our volunteer staff and by donations from the community.
Our goal is not to service all animal needs within the area, but
only to positively impact the area’s animal population.”
All animals must have an appointment for sterilization.
Citizens who wish to schedule their
pet an appointment or those who desire additional information about the Hillsboro

as a resource for Texas animal shelters and animal welfare organizations.
The group’s spay and neuter programs in Azle, Cleburne, Denton,
Marble Falls, Paris and Weatherford, Texas have sterilized more than 15,000 pets. TCAP also works with animal shelters
and independent animal welfare organizations to evaluate the needs of their communities,
to establish new programs and to foster support for their efforts from city leaders.
